March 6,1947: David Gilmour, guitar player for Pink Floyd, is born.
March 6, 1970: Charles Manson releases an album, "Lie", to finance his defense in the Tate-LeBianca murder case. The album cover is a mock-up of the Life magazine cover photo of Manson, with the "F" taken out of Life. The album features "Look At Your Game Girl," a song later covered by Guns N' Roses.
March 7, 1994: The U.S. Supreme Court rules that parodies poking fun at an original work can be considered "fair use" that does not require permission from the copyright holder. Weird Al breathes a sigh of relief.
March 8, 1973: Paul McCartney pleads guilty to charges of growing marijuana outside of his Scottish countryside farm, claiming a fan had given him the seeds and he did not know what they would grow. He is fined $240.
